Free Online Screen & Tab Recorder (Zero-Server)
The ZrirJaouad Screen Recorder Studio is a high-performance, privacy-first web utility designed for educators, software developers, and remote workers. Recording a quick tutorial, capturing a software bug, or saving an online meeting shouldn't require you to download heavy, expensive software like OBS Studio, nor should you be forced to install sketchy Chrome Extensions that steal your browser data and slap massive watermarks on your final video. Our tool utilizes the HTML5 WebRTC and MediaRecorder APIs. This means your screen is captured, encoded, and packaged into a high-quality video file entirely within the local memory (RAM) of your web browser.
Core Studio Features
-
Total Capture Flexibility:
When you initiate a recording, your browser will prompt you to select exactly what you want to capture. You can choose to record your entire desktop monitor, a specific application window (like Excel or Photoshop), or a single Google Chrome tab (perfect for recording web apps while hiding your other open tabs). -
Advanced Audio Mixing Engine:
Capturing video is easy, but audio is where other tools fail. Our studio features a custom Web Audio API mixing matrix. If you toggle both "System Audio" and "Microphone", the engine will seamlessly record the internal audio of the video you are watching AND your voiceover through your headset, mixing them perfectly into a single, synchronized audio track on the final video file. -
Instant Local Export (No Watermarks):
Because there is no backend server involved, there are no rendering queues and no file size limitations. When you press stop, the `.webm` video file is instantly compiled and ready for download. We never inject watermarks or logos onto your footage.
How to Record Your Screen Online
- Select Audio Inputs: Check the boxes on the left to dictate if you want to record System Audio, Microphone Audio, or both.
- Start Recording: Click the big red Record button. Your browser will ask you which screen or tab you wish to share. (Note: If you want System Audio, ensure you check the "Share Tab Audio" box inside the browser prompt!)
- Record & Pause: The monitor view will display a live preview of your capture. You can freely pause and resume the recording using the controls below the timer.
- Stop & Download: Click the Stop button. Your video will instantly appear in the "Recent Recordings" gallery on the right, where you can preview it and download it directly to your hard drive.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
No. 100% of the video rendering, encoding, and processing happens locally inside your browser. If you disconnect your computer from the internet while recording, the tool will continue to work perfectly and save your file. Your privacy is guaranteed.
The video saves as a .webm file. WebM is a high-quality, highly compressed, royalty-free media format designed specifically for the web. It is natively supported by YouTube, Discord, and all modern web browsers. If you need it in `.mp4` format for older video editing software, you can easily convert it using any standard desktop converter or VLC.
Due to strict browser security protocols, you must explicitly tell the browser to share audio. When the screen selection pop-up appears, look closely at the bottom left of the prompt for a checkbox that says "Share tab audio" or "Share system audio" and ensure it is checked before clicking "Share".
